SEO & Social Media - The PERFECT partnership for your business
While you drive Social Media, SEO allows your clients (with help from Google) to do your marketing for you!
At the start of 2019 I put a concrete effort into SEO for the Nick Church Photography website. The reason for this was a concern about GDPR changes and how they would affect Facebook Advertising (unfounded fears as it turned out, but I’m SO glad I did it).
Moving Up The Ranks
The search terms I wanted to target was ‘Bristol Wedding Photography’/Photographer. Six months or so later I had moved from number 80-90 in the list to number 5.
Once you have a solid process in place you don’t need to put lots of effort into it and since then gradually I have moved into the number 1 spot which has been fantastic! This week I have even displacing Hitched, with their team of SEO assassins targeting every city in the UK!
Perfect 10
While it is a nice to be at that top spot, things are always changing and so it won’t necessarily stay that way. But it’s being in the top 10 that is most important so that clients see you on the first page of Google search results.
A year ago 95% of my bookings were through Facebook (paid or organic), but in the last month all my bookings have been from Google!
Your clients come to you, not the other way around
Both approaches (Social Media & Google) are valid and it is important to keep both options open. Working Social Media successfully is great for conversions, but it is a great feeling to know that when you don’t have time to spend hours in social media, that your website and SEO continues to do your marketing for you. Your clients come to you, rather than the other way around.
Nick Church Photography Business Workshops
I run three popular workshops in this area:
SEO: Moving on Up! A single session to make the important changes to your website to get your website moving up the list! This is the same techniques I used along with the tools and techniques to keep everything on track yourself.
Marketing Ninja! Covering all aspects of getting your brand into shape, getting your messaging out to the world and using Social Media and your website to drive conversions.
Succeeding with Facebook Ads: My first coaching workshop and still really popular. I developed a technique to use Facebook’a Ad platform to give me my first 100 bookings and you can see how to do the same.
